Youth Company of Performing Arts
THE VALLEY'S PREMIER YOUTH DANCE COMPANY!
We are a non-profit youth company and our goal is to expose our members to all aspects of the performing arts and therefore enhance their growth and knowledge for future endeavors. We hope to provide an opportunity and place for students who are already training to focus in on their performance skills and contribute to future productions.
Members must be taking one “core” course and two “electives” at a Dance or Performing Arts School. Company members will be twelve years of age and up (exceptions are reserved to the rights of the director of True Colours Youth Company of Performing Arts). All will are required to have trained in dance for at least five years and will have had at least three years experience competing or performing in dance festivals or showcases. Each performer is brings their own unique style and presence to the company and encouraged to maintain their individuality.
Our goal is to incorporate as many forms of dance as possible.
Dancers will have an opportunity to train and work with well know instructors and choreographers in the industry. The rehearsal times are 4hrs on Saturdays...12:00 - 4:00pm! Performers will work on technique and set Choreo in preparation for our 3rd annual show.
This years show “Freedom” included lyrical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, Indian/contemporary fusion, musical theatre and poetry. The performance showcased an eclectic artist interpretation of “freedom” from some BC’s most talented choreographers.
AND WHAT A SHOW IT WAS!!!
